“God is Great & He’s Better Than That!” What a blessing it is to share with you the wonderful things Jesus Christ is doing in the lives of our church family! My recipe for successful ministry is simple….Love The Lord, Love His People, and He takes care of what’s under the steeple!
Experience: 25+ years of experience of pastoral ministry, serving in the Barrier Islands, the Upstate, and the Lowcountry regions of South Carolina.
Education:
Bachelors, Masters, and Doctorate of Ministry degrees; Certified Pastoral Counselor, and have numerous certifications pertaining to effective Pastoral Leadership.

Rev. R.L. ZEIGLER – Minister of Worship
In December, 2022, R.L. passed from this world to Heaven!
He faithfully served his Lord through His church family for 75 years of life,
55+ years (he stopped counting) as Minister of Worship;
and untold years as a Youth Minister, Sunday School Teacher, Organist/Pianist,
Deacon, amazing Pastor, and beloved friend and mentor to so many!
We have been very fortunate to have him for just a brief time…
but know without a doubt we will meet him again in Heaven!

HEATHER CHAVIS – Children and Youth Ministry Director
Heather oversees the various ministries for children and youth at FHBC!
Heather has worked in Education and Ministry for years with God leading her to begin
her journey at a preschool level. While teaching and directing preschool, God guided her to begin homeschooling her childen. Homeschooling has greatly impacted her passion for ministry to youth and children in the community as well. Heather began working with Youth Ministry as her faith deepened. She enjoys the various in-depth conversations Youth Ministry provides in spiritual grown as a whole. She loves to see the process from beginning to (never) end as each child learns more about Jesus, their purpose, and what He has done for us!

Family: Wonderful husband Adam (high school sweetheart), two great children,

KARI SEXTON – Administrative Ministry & Finance Ministry Assistant
Kari is the warm smile and friendly face that serves in the church office!
As ministry assistant, she provides pastoral and administrative staff support
for the team!
