Looking for a way to serve at FHBC?

We have many areas in which you could serve, from volunteering as a nursery worker to being on a committee to teaching a Sunday school class!

Sunday School Teachers

FHBC is always looking for those gifted in and willing to teach during our Sunday School hour! We have teachers for the children, youth, and various adult classes who rotate each month. A curriculum book is provided for our teacher volunteers. A background check will be required for all volunteers teaching children.

If you are interested in teaching an adult Sunday School class, please contact Elaine Hill.

If you are interested in teaching a children's or youth Sunday School class, please contact Heather Chavis.

If you are interested in keeping the nursery or teaching children's church during the worship service, please contact Heather Chavis.

Committees

FHBC has a large number of committees that preside over many tasks, activities, or ministries such as the Bereavement committee, Constitution and By-laws committee, Personnel committee, Hospitality committee and many more. Many of these committees currently have vacancies. In fact, the church has a very big need for people willing to actively serve and participate.

To learn more about the committees, please contact the church office via phone or the form below.

Ushers

Four ushers serve on Sunday mornings during the worship service and rotate each month. They stand in the foyer ready to greet the incoming people, offer them a bulletin, and answer any questions they might have. As the service progresses, the ushers will take up any offerings during the offertory time that follows the offertory hymn.

If you are interested in ushering, please contact Tripp Hungerpiller.

Deacons

At FHBC, the deacons are a major part of the leadership within the church. The deacons, with the pastor, are to consider and make recommendations to the church in all matters pertaining to its spiritual work and progress. At all times, they are considered servants of the church. Within the deacon selection process, there are both biblical and church mandated qualifications for being considered to serve as a deacon.

For more information on how this process works, please feel free to contact the current chairman or vice-chairman of the deacons as well as the church office.
